What is included in total rental fees?


The total rental fee includes

  1. Base rate for the vehicle (Different rates for different types)
  2. Optional Insurance charge (Damage Waiver, Lilability, Personal Accident)
  3. License and Registration Recovery Fee
  4. Sales tax and Optional Fees (GPS, phone, etc)




What information do I need to provide to rent a car?


You need

  1. Valid Driver's License or International Driving Permit
  2. Insurance card and declaration page (California Residents)
  3. Passport (Foreign Customers)
  4. Hotel Information and Flight Ticket (Foreign Customers)
  5. Credit Card




What types of Insurance can I need to purchase?


NY Rent A Car offers various types of insurance products to anyone 1. Collision Damage Waiver $17/day for sedans $29.99/day for SUVs and minivans This insurance covers the physical damage of the car when the renter is involved in an accident. The renter will be waived from financialy reponsibility of the damage. This is optional; however, if the renter does not purchase this product and damages the car, he or she is financially responsible for the damage. 2. Physical Damage Coverage $11.99/day for sedans $17.99/day for SUVs and minivans This coverage provides the renter a physical damage coverage for the rental car with a $1,000 deductible. If the financial cost of damage exceeds $1,000, the renter will only be responsible for $1,000. 3. California Basic Liability Insurance $12.99/day This insurance provides the renter a primary liability coverage up to the minimum requirements the state requires. 4. Supplemental Liability Insurance $15.99/day This insurance provides the renter a liability coverage upto $1,000,000 combined single limit. 5. Personal Accident Coverage/ Personal Effects Coverage $6.99/day This coverage provides ccidental death benefit to the renter up tp $250,000, accidental benefit to to passenger up to $100,000, accidental medical expense & ambulance fee up to $2,500, and perosnal effects coverage up to $750 per person.

Does NY Rent A Car open on weekends?


Yes, we do open on Saturdays from 9 A.M to 2 P.M. We are closed on Sundays.




What are the mileage limitations?


NY Rent A Car provides 150 miles per day for free. There is an extra mile fee if total miles exceed those provided free. Extra mile fee is $0.30 per mile.

Does Collisoin Damage Waiver always cover the car?


No, Collision Damage Waiver does not cover the car if a. Damage or loss results from an Authorized Driver's 1. Intentional, willful, wanton, or reckless conduct, 2. Operation of the vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol in violation of Section 23152 of the California Vehicle Code, 3. Towing or pushing anything, or 4. Operation of the vehicle on an unpaved road if the damage or loss is a direct result of the road or driving conditions. b. Damage or loss occurs while the vehicle is 1. Used for commercial hire, 2. Used in connection with conduct that could be properly charged as a felony, 3. Involved in a speed test or contest or in driver training activity, 4. Operated by a person other than an authorized driver, or 5. Operated outside of the United States unless authorized on the Rental Agreement Summary; c. Any Authorized Driver(s) has 1. Provided fraudulent information to the rental company, or 2. Provided false information and the rental company would not have rented Vehicle if it had instead received true information

Does NY Rent A Car take debit cards?


Yes! NY Rent A Car take debit cards as payment methods under certain circumstances. Customers who have no choice but to use debit cards will have to provide the most recent utility bill and bank statement with current residential address at the counter.

One of NY Rent A Car's strengths is that we deliver your rental cars directly to your door. Before getting your car delivered, we will process everything including e-signing rental agreements and payments through online.
